Alerts
The Alerts system lets you push important notifications to your displays at any time. Alerts overlay on top of all other content, ensuring critical messages are seen immediately. Four priority levels let you match the urgency of each situation.
What it looks like on a display
Section titled “What it looks like on a display”Alerts appear as a full-screen or banner overlay above all running content. The visual treatment changes based on priority:
| Priority | Appearance |
|---|---|
| Info | Subtle banner — informational, non-urgent |
| Warning | Yellow/amber overlay — action may be needed |
| Emergency | Red full-screen overlay — immediate attention required |
| All Clear | Green overlay — signals the emergency has passed |
How alerts work

Priority levels
Section titled “Priority levels”For general announcements that don’t require action. Auto-dismisses quickly so it doesn’t interrupt content for long.
Examples: “Store Wi-Fi password changed”, “Team meeting at 3 PM”, “New menu items available”
Warning
Section titled “Warning”For situations that may require attention. Stays visible longer than Info.
Examples: “Wet floor in aisle 3”, “Register 2 offline”, “Inventory delivery arriving in 30 minutes”
Emergency
Section titled “Emergency”For urgent situations requiring immediate action. Stays on screen the longest and is the most visually prominent.
Examples: “Fire alarm — evacuate immediately”, “Security alert”, “Severe weather warning”
All Clear
Section titled “All Clear”Signals that a previous emergency or warning has been resolved. Can optionally require manual acknowledgment before dismissing.
Examples: “All clear — resume normal operations”, “Weather warning lifted”
- Configure auto-dismiss times based on your environment. Busy retail floors may need longer display times.
- Use Info alerts for day-to-day communications and reserve Emergency for genuine emergencies.
- Test the alert system during setup to verify it reaches all displays.
- Combine with Emergency Alerts for IPAWS integration (government emergency broadcasts).
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Alert didn’t appear on a display. Verify the display is using a layout with alerts enabled. Check that the display is online and connected.
Alert won’t dismiss. Check the auto-dismiss settings for that priority level. If set to “never,” the alert must be manually dismissed. For All Clear alerts, the Require acknowledgment setting may be on.
Wrong priority level sent. You cannot edit an alert after sending. Send a new alert at the correct priority, or send an All Clear to dismiss the previous one.
