Google Photos

Connect your Google Photos account to bring photos and videos from your albums into your BrandCast content library. Once imported, they’re available to use in any slideshow or layout zone — and they stay up to date as you add new media to your albums.

  1. Connect your Google account under Account > App connections if you haven’t already.
  2. Go to Content > Media tab.
  3. Click Add and select Import from Google Photos.
  4. Browse your albums and select the one you want to import from.
  5. Choose the photos and videos to bring in, then click Import.

Note: BrandCast only reads your photos — it cannot modify or delete anything in your Google Photos library.

Google Photos imports both photos and videos from your albums. Videos come in as actual video files that play back on your displays — not still images or thumbnails.

After importing, your media appears in your BrandCast content library where you can:

  • Add photos to a slideshow
  • Use video clips in a slideshow alongside images
  • Drop individual photos into layout zones

New photos and videos added to an album don’t import automatically — you’ll return to the Google Photos import and bring them in when you want to update your display. For most use cases, this is quick: select new items and click Import.

Tip: Create a dedicated album in Google Photos just for your displays. That way, all your team members know exactly where to add new content.

Shared albums let multiple people contribute photos. Anyone with access can add photos to the album, and you import their additions into BrandCast when you’re ready.

Reminder: Anyone with album access can add content. Check that what’s been added is appropriate before importing it to your displays.

Product photography, team photos, event coverage, behind-the-scenes moments, and customer appreciation posts all work well when pulled from a shared business album.

Album not found. Make sure the album exists in Google Photos and hasn’t been moved to trash. Shared albums need to be accepted before they appear in your album list.

Photos not showing after import. Check your content library for the newly imported items. If they’re not there, try the import again and look for any error messages.

Video imported as a still image. This was a known issue that has been fixed. If a video shows as a still, remove it from the library and re-import it from Google Photos.

Google account not connecting. Go to Account > App connections, remove the existing Google Photos connection, and reconnect your account.
