Connecting ZoomShift
Connect ZoomShift to display your employee schedule on store screens. Staff can see who’s working today, what their shift times are, and who’s currently on the floor — all automatically pulled from your ZoomShift account.
What it looks like on a display
Section titled “What it looks like on a display”The ZoomShift display shows a list of employees and their shifts for the current day and upcoming days. Each row shows an employee’s name, their shift start and end times, and their current status (on shift or upcoming). Position colors help staff quickly read the schedule at a glance.
How to connect ZoomShift
Section titled “How to connect ZoomShift”ZoomShift provides a calendar feed URL that BrandCast reads directly. You’ll need to get this URL from your ZoomShift account.
Finding your ZoomShift calendar feed URL:
- Log in to your ZoomShift account.
- Go to Settings → Integrations or look for a calendar export option.
- Copy the iCal feed URL. It will look something like a long web address ending in
.ics.
Adding ZoomShift to BrandCast:
- Go to Create → Employees.
- Select ZoomShift as a schedule source.
- Paste your ZoomShift calendar feed URL.
- Give the content item a name (for example, “Today’s Schedule”).
- Configure the display settings (see below).
- Save and add the item to your playlist.
Tip: The ZoomShift feed URL contains a private token — treat it like a password. Don’t share it publicly, and regenerate it in ZoomShift if you think it’s been compromised.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Days ahead — How many days of upcoming shifts to show. Setting this to 1 shows today’s shifts only. Setting it to 2 or 3 shows shifts for the next few days, which is useful for a break room display where staff plan ahead.
Show currently working — When enabled, staff currently on shift are highlighted or shown at the top of the list so it’s easy to see who’s on the floor right now.
Max shifts — The maximum number of shift entries to show at once. For displays with limited space, set this lower so the text remains readable.
- Place the ZoomShift display in the break room or near the time clock where staff check in and out.
- Use a portrait-orientation display for schedule boards — it shows more rows in the list format.
- Combine ZoomShift with a clock display in the same layout so staff can see the current time alongside the schedule.
- If your schedule includes multiple roles or departments, the position color coding helps staff quickly find their team.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Schedule isn’t updating. BrandCast reads from the ZoomShift calendar feed periodically. If the schedule looks outdated, use the Refresh option on the content item in your library to force an immediate update. Changes in ZoomShift typically appear on your display within 15 minutes.
The feed URL stopped working. ZoomShift calendar feed URLs occasionally change or expire. Log in to ZoomShift, generate a new feed URL, and update it in the content item settings in BrandCast.
Only some shifts are showing. Check the Max shifts and Days ahead settings. If max shifts is set low, some shifts may be cut off. Increase the limit if needed.
Employee names look wrong or are missing. The schedule data comes directly from ZoomShift. If names are incorrect or missing, update them in ZoomShift — the change will appear in BrandCast at the next update.
