Creating Content

Content is the heart of your digital signage. This guide walks through creating content from scratch, uploading media, and connecting to external sources.

There are three ways to add content:

  1. Navigate to Content in the sidebar
  2. On the Hub tab, click Add New (or one of the category quick-buttons such as Sports, Events, Weather, etc.)
  3. The New Content Source dialog opens listing categories with descriptions
  4. Select the category you want to create

  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab and select Slideshow from the New Content Source dialog
  2. Drag and drop files, or click to browse
  3. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG

Best practices:

  • Match display resolution (1920×1080 for HD)
  • Compress large files before upload
  • Use descriptive file names
  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab and select Video from the New Content Source dialog
  2. Upload your video file
  3. Supported formats: MP4, WebM

Video requirements:

Setting Recommended
Format MP4 with H.264 codec
Resolution Match display (1080p typical)
Bitrate 5-10 Mbps for quality
Length Under 5 minutes for best performance

Note: Large videos may take time to upload and process. You’ll see a progress indicator.

  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab (or the Weather quick-button)
  2. Select Weather from the New Content Source dialog
  3. In the Configure step, enter a Name and set your location
  4. Choose display style and configure units (°F/°C)
  5. Complete the wizard to create

  2. Select Clock from the New Content Source dialog
  3. In the Configure step, enter a Name, choose digital or analog style, and set the time zone
  4. Complete the wizard to create
  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab (or the Time quick-button)
  2. Select Countdown from the New Content Source dialog
  3. In the Configure step, enter a Name, target date, and display format
  4. Complete the wizard to create
  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab (or the Presentations quick-button)
  2. Select Google Slides from the New Content Source dialog
  3. In the Configure step, enter a Name and connect your Google account if prompted
  4. Choose a presentation from your Drive and configure slide options
  5. Complete the wizard to create

Live sync: Changes in Google Slides automatically appear on your display.

  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab (or the Events quick-button)
  2. Select a calendar source from the New Content Source dialog
  3. In the Configure step, enter a Name and authorize calendar access
  4. Select calendars to display and configure view options
  5. Complete the wizard to create

Display curated headlines from trusted sources — no RSS URL needed:

  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab (or the News quick-button)
  2. Select News Feed from the New Content Source dialog
  3. In the Configure step, enter a Name and choose your news sources
  4. Complete the wizard to create

For a specific feed not in the News catalog:

  1. Click Add New on the Hub tab (or the News quick-button)
  2. Select RSS from the New Content Source dialog
  3. In the Configure step, enter a Name and the RSS feed URL
  4. Configure display options and refresh interval
  5. Complete the wizard to create

All content has common settings:

Time Restrictions Show only during specific hours

Note: Expired content automatically stops appearing on displays.

After creation, content may need processing:

Status Meaning
Processing Being converted/optimized
Ready Available for use
Error Problem occurred - check details
Content Type Typical Time
Small images Instant
Large images 5-30 seconds
Short videos 1-5 minutes
Long videos 5-30 minutes

Before content goes live, check:

  • Appears correctly in preview
  • Text is readable at viewing distance
  • Colors have sufficient contrast
  • Duration is appropriate
  • Connected services are authorized

  2. Verify format is supported
  3. Ensure stable internet connection
  4. Try a different browser

  3. Try re-uploading
  4. Contact support if persistent
