Menu boards
The Menu Board lets you build a custom, professional-looking menu directly in BrandCast. Add your sections, items, prices, and descriptions, then display the result on any screen. No design software or external tools required.
Note: Menu Board is for creating your own menu from scratch. If your food service uses MealViewer, see MealViewer to pull menus automatically.

Adding menu content
Section titled “Adding menu content”Sections
Section titled “Sections”Sections organize your menu into groups. Common sections include:
- Breakfast
- Lunch Specials
- Beverages
- Seasonal Items
You can add, remove, and reorder sections at any time. Sections appear as headers on the display.
Each section can hold any number of items. For each item you can set:
Name — The menu item name, shown prominently.
Price — Displayed to the right of the item name. Leave blank to hide the price for that item.
Description — Optional short description shown below the name in smaller text. Keep descriptions brief — one sentence works best on a display.
Tags — Label items as vegetarian, gluten-free, spicy, or similar. Tags appear as small badges next to the item name.
Display options
Section titled “Display options”Columns — Choose one or two columns. Two columns lets you fit more items per screen and works well on wide displays. One column is easier to read from a distance.
Show prices — Turn off if you prefer not to display prices (useful for rotating specials boards).
Show descriptions — Turn off to show names and prices only, with a cleaner, more compact layout.
Currency symbol — Defaults to $. Change this to match your local currency.
- Update your menu board whenever items or prices change — content on your display reflects whatever you save.
- For daily specials, consider creating a separate Menu Board content item for specials only, then scheduling it to run alongside your main menu during lunch hours.
- Two-column layouts work best for menus with more than ten items. One-column layouts are cleaner for small menus or chalkboard-style displays.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”My menu looks crowded. Try switching to two columns, or reduce the number of items shown by removing descriptions. You can also create two separate menu boards — one for food, one for drinks — and add them both to your playlist.
I need to update a price. Open the menu board content item in your library, edit the item price, and save. Your display updates automatically on its next refresh.
