Connecting Sling

Connect Sling to display your employee schedule on store screens. Staff can see who’s working, shift times, and who’s currently on the floor — all pulled automatically from your Sling account.

What it looks like on a display

The Sling display shows a list of employees with their shifts for the current day and upcoming days. Each row shows an employee’s name, shift start and end times, and whether they’re currently on shift. Position colors help staff quickly identify roles.

How to connect Sling

Step 1: Authorize Sling

  1. Go to Account > Integrations.
  2. Click Connect next to Sling.
  3. Sign in with your Sling account credentials.
  4. Authorize BrandCast to read your schedule data.

Step 2: Add schedule content

  1. Go to Create → Employees.
  2. Select Sling as a schedule source.
  3. Configure display settings (see below).
  4. Save and add to your playlist.

Settings

Max shifts Maximum shifts to show (default 50)
Days ahead How many days of shifts to display (1–14)
Show currently working Highlight employees currently on shift

Tips

Section titled “Tips”
  • Place the Sling schedule near the time clock or break room where staff naturally check their shifts.
  • Use the list format on portrait displays for maximum readability.
  • Set Days ahead to 1 for a “today only” view, or 2–3 for planning ahead.
  • Combine with a clock display so staff can see the current time alongside the schedule.
  • Sling works alongside other schedule sources (ZoomShift, Google Sheets) — they all appear in the unified schedule view.

Troubleshooting

Schedule isn’t updating. BrandCast reads from Sling periodically. Use the Refresh button on the content item to force an immediate update. Changes in Sling typically appear within 15 minutes.

Connection expired. Sling OAuth tokens can expire. Go to Account > Integrations and reconnect Sling.

Only some shifts are showing. Check the Max shifts and Days ahead settings. Increase them if shifts are being cut off.

Employee names look wrong. Schedule data comes directly from Sling. Update employee names in Sling — changes will appear at the next refresh.
