Connecting Google Workspace

Connect your Google account to display content from Google Slides, Sheets, Docs, and Photos directly on your screens. When you update something in Google, your displays update automatically — no manual steps needed.

Service What shows on your display
Google Slides Presentations, announcements, promotional decks — beta
Google Sheets Tables, charts, KPIs, live data — beta
Google Docs Documents, policies, procedures — beta
Google Photos Albums and slideshows
  1. Navigate to AccountIntegrations.
  2. Find Google Workspace and click Connect.
  3. Google’s sign-in page appears — select your Google account or sign in.
  4. Review the permissions requested and click Allow.
  5. Status shows Connected and your Google content becomes available.

Tip: Use your organization’s Google Workspace account for business content so you have access to shared drives and team files.

Note: All permissions are read-only. BrandCast can view your content but cannot create, edit, or delete anything in your Google account.

For content to display, your connected Google account needs at least Viewer access to the file. If a file is shared only within your organization, make sure your connected account is part of that organization.

Access level Works?
Owner Yes
Editor Yes
Viewer Yes
No access No — content won’t display

You can connect more than one Google account if you need to access content from different accounts.

  1. Go to AccountIntegrations.
  2. Click Add Another Google Account.
  3. Sign in with the additional account.

When adding content, you can browse files from any connected account.

“Access denied” or “Permission required.” Verify you have access to the file in Google directly. Try opening it in a browser — if Google blocks you there, it will block BrandCast too. Re-authorize the connection if needed.

Connection expired. Google connections require periodic re-authorization. If the status shows “Needs Re-authorization,” go to AccountIntegrations, click Reconnect next to Google Workspace, and sign in again.

Content not found. Check that the file still exists in Google and hasn’t been moved to the Trash. Confirm you’re browsing the correct connected account.

Sync not updating. Check the connection status in AccountIntegrations. Use the manual refresh option in the content item’s settings. If the problem persists, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google account.

Organization blocked the connection. If your IT policy blocks third-party app access, ask your IT administrator to approve BrandCast in your Google Workspace admin console.

To remove your Google connection:

  1. Navigate to AccountIntegrations.
  2. Find Google Workspace.
  3. Click Disconnect and confirm.

Warning: Disconnecting removes access to all Google content. Displays showing Google Slides, Docs, Sheets, or Photos will stop updating and may show an error or the last cached version.
