MealViewer Integration

Connect MealViewer to display cafeteria menus, daily specials, and nutritional information. Perfect for schools, corporate cafeterias, hospitals, and food service locations.

About MealViewer

MealViewer is a menu publishing platform used by:

  • K-12 schools
  • Universities
  • Corporate cafeterias
  • Healthcare facilities
  • Correctional facilities

If your food service uses MealViewer, you can display those menus on your signage.

Connecting a school

MealViewer is configured directly inside the content config panel — there is no separate account-level connection step.

Step 1: Add MealViewer content

  1. Navigate to Library > Add Content
  2. Select Food Service > MealViewer

Step 2: Search for your school

In the configuration panel, type at least 3 characters of your school or district name into the Search for schools field. Results appear as you type — select your school from the list to add it.

Tip: You can search by school name or district name. If your school does not appear, confirm your food service provider uses MealViewer.

Step 3: Select the school and configure

Once connected schools are listed, choose the school you want to display menus for, then configure the display options below.

Both, one, or neither can be selected.

Allergens

Select which allergens to highlight on the display (for example: peanuts, gluten, dairy, eggs, fish, soy).

Important: Always verify allergen information with food service staff. The display is informational only.

Sync behavior

Troubleshooting

Section titled “Troubleshooting”

No menu displayed.

  1. Verify your school is connected in the content config panel
  2. Confirm menus are published in MealViewer
  3. Contact food service to verify menu exists

School not found in search. Your school or district may not use MealViewer. Confirm with your food service provider.

Wrong menu showing.

  1. Verify school selection in the config panel
  2. Confirm correct meal periods (breakfast vs lunch) are selected
  3. Check the date range setting

Missing items.

  1. Menu may not be fully published in MealViewer
  2. Check MealViewer directly with your food service contact
  3. Some items may be hidden by food service staff

Sync issues.

  1. Use the Refresh button on the content item to force an immediate update
  2. Wait for the next scheduled sync cycle

Managing connections

Connected schools are listed in the content config panel. To remove a school, click the delete icon next to it in the Connected Schools list.
