Announcements

Announcements let you display rotating text messages on your screens — useful for staff notices, company updates, event reminders, or anything you want everyone to see. Messages rotate automatically so viewers catch them without waiting.

Announcements appear as a styled text block in a layout area. Messages cycle through one at a time, with a brief pause between each. You can choose from several visual styles — bold minimal type, sticky-note cards, a full-bleed poster, or a memo format.

  1. Navigate to Content in the sidebar (URL: /admin/content).
  2. In the Hub tab, click Add New.
  3. Under the Fun category, select Announcements.
  4. Give the content item a name (for example, “Staff Notices” or “Daily Updates”).
  5. Add your announcement messages — one per entry.
  6. Set the display style and rotation interval.
  7. Save and add the item to your playlist.

Each announcement entry can include a title and body text. You can add as many messages as you need — they’ll cycle through in order.

Display style — Controls the visual appearance of each announcement:

Style Description
Clean Bold type with generous spacing, minimal accent — blends into the layout
Sticky Notes Tinted note cards with a playful feel (board format only)
Poster Full-bleed accent background with large type — high visibility
Memo Icon, category, title, body, and date chip in a structured layout

Rotation interval — How long each announcement stays on screen before the next one appears:

Interval When to use
5 seconds Short messages with quick readers (like a lobby display)
10 seconds (default) Standard for most uses
15 seconds Longer messages that need reading time
30 seconds Detailed notices or announcements with instructions

Show title — Toggle whether to display a header above the announcements (for example, “Announcements” or a custom section title).

  • Keep individual announcements short — one key message per entry works better than paragraphs.
  • Rotate announcements regularly by editing the content item in your library. Remove outdated messages so viewers always see current information.
  • For urgent notices, add them to the top of the list so they appear first in the rotation.
  • Use the Poster style for high-priority messages — the full-bleed accent background draws attention naturally.
  • Daily staff reminders (opening procedures, inventory tasks)
  • Shift-change notices
  • Policy updates for customer-facing staff
  • Promotional reminders (“Don’t forget to mention the weekend sale”)
  • Safety and compliance notices

Announcements aren’t rotating. Check the rotation interval setting — if it’s set to 30 seconds, messages will appear to stay for a while. Verify the content item is properly added to your playlist and the display is online.

Messages are cut off or hard to read. Switch to a display style that gives more visual contrast — Poster or Clean work well for readability. Also check the font size setting in your layout if text appears too small.
