News Feeds

News feeds display curated headlines from popular news sources directly on your screens. Choose from pre-built sources like ESPN, NPR, BBC, and more — no RSS URLs needed.

If you want to display content from a specific source not in the built-in list, use the Custom RSS option in the Sources step when creating a News content source. Paste any RSS feed URL directly into the form — no separate content type needed.

News appears as a polished feed with headlines, descriptions, and source branding. Depending on the display mode, articles show as cards with images, a headline ticker, or a featured article rotation.

  1. Go to Content in the sidebar.
  2. Click Add New and select the News category.
  3. In the Sources step, browse available topics and named sources, or add a Custom RSS feed URL.
  4. Choose a display mode.
  5. Complete the wizard to create and add to your layout.

Articles displayed as individual cards with image, headline, and description. Best for larger display areas and visual impact.

A compact list of headlines. Best for sidebar zones or limited space where you want maximum information density.

One article at a time, shown large with full image and description, rotating through articles on a timer. Best for lobby displays and high-visibility areas.

  • Select 2–3 sources for a focused feed. Too many sources can make the display feel cluttered.
  • Use the headlines display mode in narrow layout zones and cards mode in wider areas.
  • Enable source branding so viewers know where each headline comes from.
  • Pair news with a clock or weather display in the same layout for a complete information board.
  • Display industry-specific news in lobbies or break rooms.
  • Show business news in financial offices or waiting areas.
  • Keep staff informed with national or local headlines.

News isn’t updating. News sources refresh periodically. Use the Refresh button on the content item to force an immediate update. If a source consistently shows stale content, it may be publishing infrequently.

Images aren’t loading. Some news sources don’t include images in their feeds. Try a different source, or disable Show images to avoid blank image placeholders.

Source I want isn’t available. The built-in list covers popular sources. For any source not in the list, choose the Custom RSS option in the Sources step and paste the feed URL directly.
