Calendars

Display upcoming events, appointments, and schedules on your digital signage by connecting calendar feeds to the Content Hub.

Calendar feeds are managed in the Events tab of the Content Hub. The following source types are supported:

Source Description
iCal Feed Universal calendar format — any calendar with an iCal export URL
Employee Milestones Work anniversaries and birthdays from your employee data
  1. Navigate to Content in the sidebar (URL: /admin/content).
  2. Click the Events tab.
  3. Click Add Source.

In the Add Event Source dialog:

  1. Choose a Source Type: iCal Feed or Employee Milestones.
  2. Enter a Name for the source.
  3. Paste the Calendar URL (the iCal/feed URL from your calendar app).
  4. Pick a Default Color for events from this source.
  5. Set the Sync Interval (e.g., 30 minutes).
  6. Save.

The source card will appear in the Events tab showing sync status, event count, and last sync time.

Tip: Most calendar apps expose an iCal URL in their settings. In Google Calendar, open the calendar settings and copy the “Secret address in iCal format” to use it as an iCal Feed source.

Adding a source to the Events tab syncs the data into BrandCast. To show events on a display, create an Events content source:

  1. In the Content Hub (Hub tab), click Add New and select Events.
  2. Choose the Event Source (the feed you connected above).
  3. Optionally set Include Tags and Exclude Tags to filter events.
  4. Choose a View (Day, List, etc.).
  5. Save and add the content item to your playlist.

You can connect multiple calendar sources (e.g., one iCal Feed per department). Each Events content source pulls from one connected source. Create separate Events content items for each feed, or combine them in a layout zone.

  1. Check the source card in the Events tab — verify the sync status is Active and Last Sync is recent.
  2. Confirm the iCal URL is correct and publicly accessible.
  3. Check that the Events content item is added to an active playlist.
  1. Check your display’s time zone setting.
  2. Verify the calendar source includes time zone data in its iCal export.
  3. Events display in the display’s local time.
  1. Check the Sync Interval on the source card — lower it for frequently updated calendars.
  2. The source card shows the Last Sync time; if it’s stale, check the feed URL is still valid.

  • Combine an Events display with a clock in the same layout
  • Use Include/Exclude Tags to filter which events appear on specific displays
