PowerPoint Upload
Beta: PowerPoint upload is currently in beta. Features and availability may change.
Upload a PowerPoint file and BrandCast converts each slide into an image for display. Slides advance automatically — no software needed on the display device.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”When you upload a PPT or PPTX file, BrandCast:
- Converts each slide to a high-quality image.
- Stores the images in your library.
- Plays them as an auto-advancing slideshow on your displays.
Uploading a PowerPoint file
Section titled “Uploading a PowerPoint file”- Go to Content and open the Documents tab.
- In the Presentations section, click Upload and choose your PPT or PPTX file.
- Wait for processing to complete (larger files take longer).
- Once the presentation appears in the Documents tab, click Add New in Content Hub.
- Select Presentations, then choose the file you uploaded.
- Set the slide duration and other display settings, then save and add to your playlist.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Slide duration | How long each slide stays on screen (default 8 seconds) |
| Transition duration | Fade transition time between slides (0–3 seconds) |
| Fit mode | Fill, fit width, or fit height |
| Background color | Color behind slides when letterboxed |
- Design for display: use 16:9 aspect ratio, large fonts (24pt+), and high-contrast colors.
- Keep text minimal — viewers are scanning, not reading.
- Export at the highest quality setting for crisp slide images.
- To update the content, upload a new version of the file — the old one is replaced.
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”- Animations and transitions from the original file are not preserved. Slides display as static images with BrandCast’s built-in transitions.
- Embedded videos in slides will not play. Use the Videos content type for video content.
- Fonts not available on the conversion server may be substituted. Use common fonts for best fidelity.
- Very large files may take longer to process or time out. Keep presentations under 50 slides when possible.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Upload failed or timed out. The file may be too large or in an unsupported format. Verify it’s a valid PPT or PPTX file. Try reducing the number of slides or compressing images within the presentation.
Slides look different than in PowerPoint. Complex formatting, custom fonts, and advanced features may not convert perfectly. Simplify the presentation design for best results. Standard fonts and simple layouts convert most reliably.
Processing is taking a long time. Large presentations with many slides or high-resolution images take longer to convert. Processing typically completes within a few minutes.
